Mould near an aircon can be linked to recurring damp from condensation or leakage. The unit and the surrounding surfaces may need separate assessment. Four Solutions treats affected surfaces around the unit; internal servicing or drainage repairs need an aircon specialist.
Why mould can appear near an aircon
- Condensation. Cold surfaces may collect condensation in humid conditions, including nearby walls or ceilings.
- Moisture source. Ask an aircon specialist to check visible leakage, drainage or insulation problems. A photo alone does not confirm the cause.
- Trunking and ledges. Record visible staining along trunking and nearby walls or ceilings; colour alone does not identify the cause.
How we treat aircon mould
We remove the mould with professional biocide instead of painting over it, apply anti-mould protection where suitable, and advise on reducing condensation, such as ventilation and humidity control. Note that we treat the affected surfaces; heavy mould inside the aircon unit itself may need servicing by an aircon specialist.

Frequently asked questions
Why does mould grow right under my aircon?
Condensation or leakage can leave surrounding surfaces damp, but dark marks may have other causes. Record what you can see and arrange assessment rather than diagnosing the source from colour alone.
Will treating the surface stop it coming back?
Any moisture source, including condensation or leakage, also needs attention. We advise on surface-mould prevention; warranty eligibility and conditions are confirmed in the written quote.
Do you clean the aircon unit as well?
We treat the surfaces around the unit. Mould inside the aircon itself is best handled by an aircon servicing specialist.
